Harrison Yeo: the pen name behind the ratings, the prices and the bookie checks
Harrison Yeo is the pen name I write The Footy Slip under. I built the NRL and AFL ratings on this site, ran them over every game of 2026 and published the results, misses included. I also read the bookies' own help pages and terms before writing a word about them. Below is exactly what I do, and what I don't claim.
What I do
- Keep a points rating for all 17 NRL clubs and 18 AFL clubs, built from the results the leagues publish.
- Turn those ratings into a price for both sides of any game, and show the price next to every tip.
- Publish how the ratings went, round by round, including every game they got wrong. The 2026 back-test is on How I tip.
- Check bookies from an Australian connection: their footer, help centre and terms, quoted with the date I read them.
What I don't claim
I don't hold a licence or a qualification in betting, statistics or finance, and none is needed to read a result sheet carefully. I have no inside information about teams, and my ratings don't know about injuries or team lists. My opinions are marked as mine; the numbers come with their sources.
Why a pen name
The site is about the method and the numbers, which you can check without knowing who I am. The illustration above is a drawing made for the site, not a photo of me. What the site does and doesn't do is on Who we are.
How I'm paid
As at 29 September 2026, no bookie pays this site. If one does in future, it will be a fixed fee per new customer, and it won't change a rating, a price or the order of bookies. See how we make money.
